Yesterday I went over to the Severn Valley and picked up the new valves (sorry forgot to take a pic), before delivering them to Cheddleton.
 
The boiler has now had all the stays replaced on the driver’s side and foundation ring rivets are starting to appear.  
 
I got stuck into painting the first top-coat of the frames Poppy Red. CVR volunteer Howard Robinson appeared in the evening and was more then happy to get stuck in too, followed by Chris Meadowcroft who joined us after he’d finished work as well.
 
Happy to say the majority of the painting is now done, with a few bits to finish at the weekend. I must say it does look really good. We finished at about 9pm, when went to the pub for a bite to heat before all heading home.
