6th November 2010

The pace has quickened as the end is in sight!

Went to Tyseley and the SVR on Thursday and collected one overhauled Lubricator, Piston Rings for the vacuum pump and more Firebars. The Side Tanks and Cab Roof were refitted on Thursday as well back at Cheddleton.

On Friday I arrived in Cheddleton at 10am, and with the help of Graham, Richard Wheatcroft, Richard Cadge, Frank Dale, Mark Tweedy and Chris Simcock we managed to complete all of the following;

  • Fit the new balance pipe
  • Fit half the back-head cladding
  • Pipe up the vacuum reservoir pipe work
  • Fit the Steam chest cladding
  • Put the firebox Grate back in
  • Fit the blast pipe
  • Anneal lots of copper pipe, and fit it

Finally Chris Simcock and myself called it a day at midnight.

Apologies but no pics today, was kept too busy. Off back to carry on in the morning.

Regards
Will Naylor
